Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a building-supplies merchant in Montague Gardens. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Montague Gardens, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Keep empties and returns separate for credit

What you need

Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Friendly and professional with customers
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks

Nice if you have

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Crane or HIAB operator certificate
