Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a waste management contractor in Mossel Bay. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Mossel Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a waste management contractor.

What your day looks like

Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away

What you need

Clean driving record
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Friendly and professional with customers
Honest with cash and customer goods

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Speaking local languages on township routes
Crane or HIAB operator certificate
