Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a beverage wholesaler in George. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is George-based, with most of your time spent at a beverage wholesaler. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
• Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
• Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
• Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
• Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
• Keep empties and returns separate for credit

• Honest with cash and customer goods
• Clean driving record
• Friendly and professional with customers
• Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
• Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
• Valid PrDP for goods (G)

• Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
• Crane or HIAB operator certificate

• Company-paid PrDP renewals
• Delivery incentive per completed route
• Home every night

• Name the areas you know well. A driver who already knows the route saves the company money from day one.
• Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
