Code 10 Driver (Waste Collection Truck)

You'll run local delivery routes around Johannesburg CBD for a furniture retailer, dropping 10 to 20 stops a day. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Johannesburg CBD; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
• Check the load against invoices before signing it out
• Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
• Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
• Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
• Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away

• Clean driving record
• Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
• Valid PrDP for goods (G)
• At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
• Friendly and professional with customers
• Good knowledge of roads in and around the city

• Code 14 licence (a step up)
• Experience on a sales-and-delivery route

• Company-paid PrDP renewals
• Overtime on month-end and peak days
• Delivery incentive per completed route

• Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
• If your PrDP expires soon, renew it before applying. An expired PrDP is an automatic no.
