Job Description

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a distribution depot in Kempton Park, that could be you. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a distribution depot on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

The work, day to day

Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Update customers on delivery times and delays
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system

What you need

Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Good with Excel and email
Matric
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

Nice if you have

Knowledge of cross-border documentation
Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
