Code 10 Furniture Delivery Driver

You'll run local delivery routes around Alberton for a frozen food distributor, dropping 10 to 20 stops a day. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a frozen food distributor on the Alberton side of Gauteng.

• Keep empties and returns separate for credit
• Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
• Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
• Check the load against invoices before signing it out
• Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
• Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
• Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning

• Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
• Valid PrDP for goods (G)
• Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
• At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
• Friendly and professional with customers
• Clean driving record

• Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
• Code 14 licence (a step up)
• Speaking local languages on township routes

• Overtime on month-end and peak days
• Delivery incentive per completed route
• Home every night
• Company-paid PrDP renewals

• If your PrDP expires soon, renew it before applying. An expired PrDP is an automatic no.
• Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
