Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a long-haul freight fleet in Randburg is hiring. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a long-haul freight fleet in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

What you need

Medically fit, including eyesight
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean criminal record

Nice if you have

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Knowledge of SADC border routes
