Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a waste management contractor in Roodepoort. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a waste management contractor in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning

You'll need

Friendly and professional with customers
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city

Extra points for

Crane or HIAB operator certificate
Speaking local languages on township routes
