Job Description

Home every night: a furniture retailer in Mamelodi needs a steady Code 10 driver for daily routes. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a furniture retailer on the Mamelodi side of Gauteng. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning

Must-haves

Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Honest with cash and customer goods
Clean driving record
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Friendly and professional with customers

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Speaking local languages on township routes
Crane or HIAB operator certificate
