Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cross-border transport company in Durban Central is hiring. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Durban Central (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

What you need

Passport for cross-border routes
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean criminal record
Medically fit, including eyesight
