Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Germiston, and the load gets there because of you. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a cross-border transport company. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

Must-haves

Clean criminal record
Passport for cross-border routes
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
