Code 14 Car Carrier Driver – Fixed-Term

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Sasolburg, and the load gets there because of you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Sasolburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Clean criminal record
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs

• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
