Code 14 Tanker Driver (Hazchem)

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cross-border transport company in Welkom is hiring. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a cross-border transport company on the Welkom side of Free State.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date

• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Clean criminal record
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks

• Defensive driving course
• Dangerous goods training certificate
• Clean record on a telematics driving score

• Provident fund and medical aid option
• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
