Job Description

The road is your office with a coal haulage contractor based in Ermelo, and the load gets there because of you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Ermelo; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date

You'll need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean criminal record
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

Helpful, not essential

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
