Job Description

Get off the road and into the control office at a road freight company in Secunda. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a road freight company in Secunda. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Update customers on delivery times and delays
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route

You'll need

Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Matric
Good with Excel and email
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

Helpful, not essential

Transport management system (TMS) experience
Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
Knowledge of cross-border documentation
