Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a cross-border transport company in Roodepoort pays for. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Roodepoort-based, with most of your time spent at a cross-border transport company. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops

Must-haves

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean criminal record
Medically fit, including eyesight
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Nice if you have

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Dangerous goods training certificate
