Code 14 Flatdeck Driver (Steel Loads)

You'll move heavy loads between Mbombela and depots across the country for a cold-chain logistics fleet. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Mbombela (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Passport for cross-border routes

• Provident fund and medical aid option
• Paid PrDP renewal
• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
