Job Description

The road is your office with a long-haul freight fleet based in Cape Town CBD, and the load gets there because of you. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a long-haul freight fleet on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape.

What your day looks like

Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips

What you need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record
Medically fit, including eyesight
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes

Extra points for

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
