Code 14 Interlink Driver (Cross-Border)

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cross-border transport company in Harrismith is hiring. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Harrismith (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

• Passport for cross-border routes
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
• Clean criminal record
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Paid PrDP renewal
• Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus

• List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
