Job Description

The road is your office with a long-haul freight fleet based in Soweto, and the load gets there because of you. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a long-haul freight fleet in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

You'll need

Medically fit, including eyesight
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record

Extra points for

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Defensive driving course
