Code 14 Refrigerated Truck Driver

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a coal haulage contractor in Randburg is hiring. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at a coal haulage contractor.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

• Passport for cross-border routes
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Medically fit, including eyesight

• Dangerous goods training certificate
• Knowledge of SADC border routes

• Paid PrDP renewal
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus

• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
• List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
