Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Umlazi, and the load gets there because of you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a cross-border transport company in Umlazi. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

What you need

Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Medically fit, including eyesight
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

Extra points for

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Knowledge of SADC border routes
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
