Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cold-chain logistics fleet in Harrismith is hiring. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Harrismith; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

The work, day to day

Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

Must-haves

At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

Extra points for

Dangerous goods training certificate
Clean record on a telematics driving score
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
