Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cold-chain logistics fleet in Pietermaritzburg is hiring. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a cold-chain logistics fleet on the Pietermaritzburg side of KwaZulu-Natal. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

You'll need

Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

Helpful, not essential

Defensive driving course
Knowledge of SADC border routes
