Job Description

The road is your office with a cold-chain logistics fleet based in Pietermaritzburg, and the load gets there because of you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a cold-chain logistics fleet in Pietermaritzburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot

You'll need

Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record
Medically fit, including eyesight
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
