Code 14 Tautliner Driver (Long Distance) – Fixed-Term

You'll move heavy loads between Umhlanga and depots across the country for a cross-border transport company. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a cross-border transport company in Umhlanga. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Passport for cross-border routes

• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
• Knowledge of SADC border routes

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Paid PrDP renewal
• Provident fund and medical aid option

• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
