Code 14 Tautliner Driver (Long Distance)

You'll move heavy loads between Vereeniging and depots across the country for a cross-border transport company. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a cross-border transport company. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Clean criminal record

• List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
