Hit your collection targets at this retail credit centre in Atlantis and your commission shows it. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a retail credit centre in Atlantis. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
• Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
• Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
• Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.
• Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.

• At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
• Matric
• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
• Clear credit and criminal record
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
• Target-driven and comfortable with commission

• A second South African language
• Legal collections or attorney-firm background

• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
• Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors

• Interviewers often role-play a difficult debtor; stay polite, get a date and an amount, and close the call.
• If you are already registered with the Council for Debt Collectors, put your registration number near the top of your CV.
