Collections Agent (Student Accounts)

This vehicle finance collections floor in Vereeniging needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a vehicle finance collections floor in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
• Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
• Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
• Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
• Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

• Matric
• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
• At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
• Clear credit and criminal record

• Experience on a collections system such as Debtmaster or a dialler platform
• Legal collections or attorney-firm background
• A second South African language

• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors
• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
• Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands

• Show your collection results as numbers (for example "collected R420 000 a month against a R350 000 target").
