Construction Health and Safety Agent

The municipal infrastructure project in Kempton Park needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent

• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Fall protection planner training
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
