Continuous Miner Operator (Coal) – Immediate Start

If you run a machine safely and hit your cycle times, this open-pit iron ore mine near Brits will keep you busy. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Brits-based, with most of your time spent at an open-pit iron ore mine. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
• Keep radio contact with the dispatch controller and follow the right-of-way rules
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump

• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment

• Certificates on two or more machine types
• Machine training instructor experience
• Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
