Plant Operator (Concentrator) – Permanent

The chrome recovery plant near Potchefstroom needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a chrome recovery plant on the Potchefstroom side of North West. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab

• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs

• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• Control room experience
