DMS Plant Operator (Coal Washing)

You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the coal washing plant near Potchefstroom. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Potchefstroom, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation

• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Laboratory or sampling experience
• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
