Continuous Miner Operator (Coal) – Immediate Start

If you run a machine safely and hit your cycle times, this open-cast coal mine near Rustenburg will keep you busy. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at an open-cast coal mine in Rustenburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Keep radio contact with the dispatch controller and follow the right-of-way rules
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
• Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
• Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules

• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster

• Machine training instructor experience
• Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
