Conveyancing Clerk (Sectional Title Developments)

Buyers and sellers are waiting on your file at a general practice with a property department in Mthatha, and every step counts. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Mthatha, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Lodge documents at the Deeds Office and track them through examination
• Update agents, banks and clients on file progress on the bank portal and by email
• Apply for transfer duty receipts on SARS eFiling
• Run Deeds Office searches and title deed checks
• Prepare deeds of transfer, powers of attorney and bond documents
• Request bond cancellation figures and guarantees from banks
• Open transfer files from signed offers to purchase and check the terms

• Experience on a conveyancing system such as GhostConvey, LegalSuite or AJS
• Organised enough to run 60 or more live files
• Admission as a conveyancer for conveyancer posts
• Clear, polite updates to anxious buyers and sellers
• Matric, with a conveyancing course for secretary posts

• Sectional title and new development experience
• Notarial bonds and servitudes

• Registration bonus per file at some firms
• Paid conveyancing short courses
• Parking or taxi allowance for Deeds Office runs
• Normal office hours with rare weekend work

• Mention the Deeds Office you usually lodge at, such as Pretoria or Cape Town, since practice differs slightly.
