Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant)

An audit and advisory firm in Isando needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is an audit and advisory firm on the Isando side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• Power BI or a similar BI tool

• Study assistance for board exams
• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
