Creditors Clerk (Manufacturing)

Recons that balance and suppliers who get paid right: that's the job at a family-owned manufacturer in East London. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a family-owned manufacturer in East London. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Matric with Accounting

• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
