Payroll and HR Administrator (SME)

A retail head office in Kariega needs a payroll person who never misses a cut-off. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Kariega, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Submit monthly EMP201 returns and pay PAYE, UIF and SDL on eFiling
• Submit Compensation Fund returns of earnings
• Run weekly and monthly payrolls and check the variance reports
• Calculate leave pay, notice pay and final pay under the BCEA
• Answer staff payslip queries clearly and in private
• Declare UIF on uFiling and help staff with UI-19 forms

• Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
• Matric plus a payroll certificate or diploma
• Experience on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
• Comfortable with Excel reconciliations
• At least 2 years of full-function payroll
• Reliable with deadlines that cannot move

• Knowledge of employment equity and WSP reporting
• Bargaining council wage experience, such as MIBCO or the security sector
• Experience with medical aid and pension fund reconciliations
