Job Description

When the network goes down at this data centre in Mahikeng, you're the one who brings it back. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a data centre on the Mahikeng side of North West. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Document network diagrams and change records
Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance

You'll need

At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
Clear change management and documentation habits
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
