Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Brits. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Brits, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries

You'll need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

Helpful, not essential

Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Docker and Kubernetes experience
