Debt Collector (Legal Book)

Hit your collection targets at this vehicle finance collections floor in Fourways and your commission shows it. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Fourways. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
• Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
• Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
• Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
• Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.
• Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.

• You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
• Target-driven and comfortable with commission
• Clear credit and criminal record
• Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
• Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
• Matric

• Experience on a collections system such as Debtmaster or a dialler platform
• Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules

• Uncapped monthly commission on collected rands
• Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
• Council for Debt Collectors registration paid for you
• Monthly incentives for the top three collectors

• Interviewers often role-play a difficult debtor; stay polite, get a date and an amount, and close the call.
