Job Description

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a family-owned manufacturer in Hammarsdale. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a family-owned manufacturer on the Hammarsdale side of KwaZulu-Natal. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

The work, day to day

Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

Must-haves

Matric with Accounting
Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas

Nice if you have

Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
