Job Description

A family-owned manufacturer in Polokwane needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Polokwane, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

What you need

Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
Matric with Accounting
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
Understanding of VAT input and output rules
Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

Helpful, not essential

Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
