Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a cement and brick yard in Mthatha so every delivery goes out full and correct. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• No criminal record
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
