Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this furniture retailer warehouse in Richards Bay, and you move the stock in between. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll report in Richards Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
