Diesel Fitter (Forklift Fleet)

The earthmoving plant hire company in Potchefstroom needs a trade-tested diesel mechanic for workshop and field work. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Potchefstroom, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop

• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines

• Hydraulic systems training
• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles

• Standby and call-out allowance
• Overtime available most weeks
• Provident fund and funeral cover
