Field Service Diesel Mechanic (Roadside Breakdowns)

Keep trucks on the road and earning at the agricultural equipment dealer in Mahikeng. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Mahikeng-based, with most of your time spent at an agricultural equipment dealer.

• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs

• Overtime available most weeks
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Standby and call-out allowance
