Diesel Technician (Bus Depot) – Immediate Start

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the truck dealership workshop in Tembisa. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Tembisa; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing

• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Solid understanding of air brake systems

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses
• Hydraulic systems training
