Dispatch Assistant (Building Materials)

Delivery days start early in Boksburg, and a parcel sorting hub needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Boksburg-based, with most of your time spent at a parcel sorting hub.

• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit

• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Help to get your own licence through the company later

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
