Dispatch Assistant (Building Materials) – Experienced

You'll load and offload trucks at a container unpacking yard in Kathu so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a container unpacking yard on the Kathu side of Northern Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

• Friendly with customers at the door
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
